Why We Need to Import PST File into Outlook

The PST files play a very important role in the MS Outlook. These are used to store the copies of messages, calendar events, and other items in the Microsoft Outlook. Generally, the user wants to import PST file under the following circumstances.

When you are migrating from one email account to the other email account.
As soon as the PST file becomes inaccessible due to corruption.
When you are changing the Outlook in a system to another system having same Outlook version or a different one.

Method to Import PST File into Outlook

For importing the PST file in Outlook 2016, 2013, 2010 & 2007 you can follow the below simple steps.

Open the Outlook application.
Under the File tab, click on the Import and Export option.
The Import and Export Wizard window will open. Select Import from another program or file option and click on Next.
Under the Import a File window, choose Outlook Data File (.pst) and click on Next.
Under the Import Outlook Data File window, click on Browse tab.
Choose PST file and click on Open.
Choose the required Options and click on Next.
Select the topmost folder, select the Include subfolders. Select the location to import the PST file, and click on Finish.
After the importing of PST files is done, the data is restored to the Exchange server. Open the Outlook and utilize Outlook Exchange server till all the data is uploaded to the Exchange Server.

What to Do When PST File is Corrupt

Sometimes, there is an issue of corruption in the PST file. The problem arises when these files cannot be imported or inaccessible in your MS Outlook profile or account.
