Know VHDX File What is it?
VHDX stands for Hyper V virtual hard disk. It is similar to a physical hard drive containing the disk partition and file system. It was created first as VHD by Connectix for Microsoft Virtual PC. It is available for third-party under Microsoft Open Specification Promise. VHDX has a large storage capacity of 64 TB.
VHDX was created as an upgraded version of VHD which provides data corruption protection and optimization to increase hard drive performance. It was added in Hyper-V in Windows Server 2012. Some of the other features of VHDX are:

- Open Start and go to Windows AdministrativeTools
- Now click on Computer Management.
- On the left-hand side, under Storage click on Disk Management. Many lists of drives come on the screen
- Right-click on the Disk Managementand then click on Attach VHD
- Now under Attach Virtual Hard Disk dialog box, click on Browse button. Go to the location where VHDX file is saved and Open it. Press the OK button. Uncheck the Read-only button to add, modify and delete files or folder in the virtual disk
- As soon as the mounting process finishes, the drive starts showing as a regular drive. Its icon is shown in light blue colour
- After mounting of the disk, open This PC and then you can go inside the drive
